Rating/Response: 4 These poems are fantastic, and they are fantastic for teaching a variety of skills for students.  They are very thought provoking.

One question you would ask before a read aloud: While I read the poem, listen for what it means to you.

Reading Strategy: Questioning

Rationale for Strategy: This book would make a good book for teaching questioning because the poems are very thought provoking.  There is a lot of potential for teachers to ask thick and thin questions; there is also much potential for children to ask questions that the poem brings up in them.
