Brief Annotation: This book is about how president George Washington lost all his teeth and how he was able to get them back.

Grade Level: K-2

Readers who will like this: Children who likes presidential facts and teeth.

Rating/Response: 4 I thought this book was a great read because students will learn that they would need to take care of their teeth because even the president needed to take care of his teeth.

One question you would ask before a read aloud: What about do you think hippo on the front cover has to do with George Washington’s teeth?

Reading Strategy: Important Ideas

Rationale for Strategy: This book would be great for important ideas because George Washington lost his teeth at important events of history. Students can use the when the teeth were lost as a timeline of events.
