Rating/ Response: 5 – I thought this book did a fantastic job of demonstrating the Golden Rule and presenting it in a way that students can easily relate to.

One question you would ask before a read aloud: Who can tell me about the Golden Rule?

Reading Strategy: Free Choice

Rationale for strategy: I chose free choice but I could easily see this story fitting into many different categories, it can provide a basis for a discussion on respect in the classroom. There are many possible directions this book can take you and I would encourage teachers to seek those out.
