Rating/ Response: 5 – This story is truly a classic.  It is also colorful and incorporates geometric figures on each page.  Students can also point out color recognition and shape recognition along with learning the letters and words.

Rationale for Strategy: Students learn the recognize letters, words, sentences, concept of print, colors, rhyming and geometrics shapes.  All of which are extremely important ideas of phonics and math.
