Rating/Response: 4 This book captures the emotions that were experienced during the war.  The story really comes to life, and readers will find themselves very engaged in the story.  This is further developed through the pictures.

Reading Strategy: Social Studies

Rationale for Strategy: This book would make a great Social Studies book because it is historically accurate, and it will help students to understand the human emotions during World War II.
